Ball Python very active

I have a 1 ball python that I was told was a female I got from a breeder and have had her for awhile and am confused. She is my first snake but I have been around snakes for awhile.
I thought ball pythons have eating problems? She will eat anything I put in there, I even give her bigger meals then what the breeder was giving her she is over 6 months I got her the day she turned 5 months.
and she is very active all the time day and night sometimes she'll be in here hide but most of the time she's slithering around her encloser.
i fed her 4 days ago and just fed her today cuz I thought she might be hungry( Becuz she's so active) I feed her both live and frozen/thawed. Is this normal?


The petstore that's in my area the smallest rats they have are small rats which look to big to feed her I and I'm giving her the biggest mice they have and it makes a bulge in here, so you think she'd be fool. Why is she so active she seems to be getting more active, before she was active at night and slept most of the day.
now she's active at night and day but she still goes in her hide but it seems like she would rather be out in the open. I have a plant and vine in her enclosure and she will be up in her plant and on the vine.
and she had shed with me one time and it was a complete shed.

does all this sound normal?

Sounds normal, but just because she is active and moving around doesn't mean she has to be fed. Underfeeding has its problems but so does overfeeding! A bp does not need to be fed every 4 days! Way too much. Get the bp on a weekly to 10 day schedule so its healthier for the python and easier for you. Stay in peace and not pieces. Don't forget to donate to USARK.

Pick a schedule that's easy for you to work with. You don't have to feed her every 5 days.

My babies switch to a weekly feeding at a mere 100g. They get a few hoppers in them every 3 to 4 days when they start feeding, but once they reach 100g and are on adult mice it's once a week.

When they start reaching closer to adult size, you can even cut that back if you want to a 10 to 14 day cycle.

Whatever you do, monitor their weight. As long as they are gaining weight and growing over time, you are feeding them enough.

Six month old bp is considered a juvenile and can thrive on weekly feedings and remain healthy. A baby ball python is 3 or 4 months of age and less including hatchlings. Don't overfeed your bp, it can lead to illnesses and difficulties in their ability to breed successfully in the future. Good luck again.

You can probably find it on Amazon for a bit less.

You can start feeding rats as soon as they'll accept them. I start trying at around 110g to 120g with rat pups.

There are a lot of opinions on feeding.

I use weights for everything a juvinile is under a given weight to me it does't matter if it is a year or older.

My method.

under 500gm get 10% (loosely) of their weight a meal. (i.e. a 300gm snake would get a 30 gm meal) every 4-5 days
500-1200gm get 10% every 7 days
adults 1200+ (females I drag some I often wait until they are 1600+) get 3-5% meals every 5 days.

There have been some reports on Leptin build up with large meals less frequently. It is associated with fatty liver disease and obesity.

I have switched her to a 34qt (33Lt) tub to help with the humidity, before she was in a 55 gallon fish tank.
I can not get the heat over 80 and the humidity is 70 in the tub and there's one small water bowl (she never soaks, might drink tho idk). in the tank heat was 80 and humidity was 40-80 with eco earth bricks, 2 water bowls and misting(the ground would get wet plus walls)
Is the tub setup better then the tank?
How can I get heat higher in tub.
i have a uth and have room under the tub for heat to escape and and getting a thermostat the one off Amazon that cost 32 something is this the right one?
any thing else I should add?
i have a hide, a water bowl, vine, and fake plant, am using paper towels for now when I get the thermostat I'm thinking of switching to aspen bedding. And have the petco temperature and humidity readers
plus is it ok if the tanks foggy? I have about 50 holes on the top. I have a smallish water bowel and it's not wet in there but I wipe the walls down when I see it.
should I change anything? The bedding ok? Any help would be nice thank you
