    Hacker Warning

I just wanted to make people aware that somebody out of China has been trying to log in on accounts here. I don't know if it's an isolated incident or not, but I wanted to make people aware, so they can change passwords or do whatever necessary to make sure they don't get their account hacked.

Yes, this is the latest trend of spammer trash. We've mentioned it before, but it bears saying again and again. PLEASE make sure your passwords are secure, with an unpredictable string of lower and uppercase letters, numbers and symbols. A simple single-word password is at very high risk to get hacked into and if that happens, it may very well get banned for spamming.

Unfortunately, those old accounts whose members no longer frequent the site are vulnerable, so PLEASE let us know if you receive any unusual or spammy private messages, even from legitimate-looking accounts. And don't click on any links from people you don't know.

Someone has just tried to enter my account as well. Their IP traced them to Moscow.

FYI, IP addresses mean next to nothing, you can ask a mod to verify but I should be posting from germany right now

Just spammers trying to do their thing, I have any warning like those go directly to my junk folder, they do it to every forum it seems. Just follow judy's advise and they shouldn't be bothering you.

Yeah, I'm aware they don't mean much, it was just for everyone's information. It isn't surprising that these spammers are using Chinese or Russian IPs though.

Yes, that IP shows up as from Germany. I do miss the good ol' days when those numbers could be used as a reliable tool, but that is no longer the case.

Keep your passwords secure...and then laugh at the idiots wasting time and money trying to break in to your account.

    I didn't do it.

(But my IP shouldn't be from China, anyway. I'm "in" Houston, TX right now)

Reach for the stars, and if you don't grab them at least you'll fall on top of the world.
