Oh, and if you or your husband feel more comfortable wearing gloves, you should! Nothing wrong with that. Especially since you are dealing with a new unestablished hatchling who has already lashed out. I wore gloves for a short period of time with my Petsmart purchased c/h juvenile normal female. Trust that this is a hatchling behavior that is more than likely just incidental. Relax and rest assured that as the bp gains trust and confidence that will go away. BTW, my normal and my pastel are the best feeders in my collection and I have not had to deal with any striking or defensive outburst. Always remember these are animals with wild instincts and should always be treated with respect. Good luck.
