questions about materials for making my own hide

    Hey all!
Right now I am making my snake's hide out of clay. I plan on using acrylic paint to paint the design once the clay has dried. Finally, I am going to coat the entire hide with Rust-oleum Painter's Touch 2 X satin clear sealant.

I just want to get some feedback from anyone to see if these are safe materials to use for my Bps hide. I am getting a little worried after reading the "Ball python dies and comes back to life" thread. The last thing I want is my pet to get sick from possible hazardous materials.

Please, let me know your opinions!
    Thanks

^^that is AWESOME! I so fully intend to do that. Hides are so dang pricey, especially when you start to get up there in size. This is so exciting, I want to make some right now even though I don't need any.

    Hey Mr. Misha!
Yeah, I looked at that tutorial a while ago (thank you for sharing that!) The type of hide I am making is pretty detailed and clay was the medium that would be easier to work with. I would like to use acrylic paint with paintbrushes for my hide as well.
I keep telling myself that everything will be fine once I seal the whole thing with the satin waterproofing spray, but I want to double check before I dive into this thing. If I let it air out for a couple of days, do you think that would be safe for my BP?

    Thanks for the response!
    Todd

Yeah, that is an awesome idea. You can never have too many hides. (I tend to change Gozer's hides when she is finicky about eating. That slight change gets her back on the rats) I'll try this method for less elaborate hides than the one I am creating now.
