Yeah, it's nothing to do with "the pros can't do it right" and everything to do with "let's build it with the cheapest components possible so we can turn a profit easier". Get heat tape and fans prewired and scope some minifridges for cheap or free on craigs list or ebay, then just make sure you run your heat tape through a GOOD thermostat, like a vivarium electronics or a herpstat.
The thermostat is already covered, thankfully - I've had a herpstat lined up for the incubator since I received the Reptipro almost a year ago.
