That really depends on you. If you do not want to put the work in calming a young one down if it is nippy then you may want to get a sub or full adult to start with.
If you have not held an adult you may want to at least give that a try before you jump into them. They are very impressive and can be a hand full so be sure you know what you are getting in to.
