    Well with VE there is pulse proportional and dimming. With Herpstats, they all come both pulse proportional and dimming. I prefer dimming. Pulse proportional is basically like flicking a light on/off hundreds of times a second. Dimming is actually limiting the power the item. So basically you don't want pulse proportional for something like heat lamps as it can cause them to flicker or strobe. So if you are set on a VE, get the VE 200D which is their only dimming model. kind of surprised their dual stat model isn't dimming as well. And like I said, for Herpstats, they have both so you can pick which mode you want to use. I personally use dimming mode for my RHP on my Herpstat 1.
