    temp in tank an shed

    My ball python is in a 10 gallon tank the temp is finally at 88 on warm side bout 80 on cool are these where they should be.... an as of last night hes starting to shed i seen a piece in the tank but how do i know if hes having problems

    Minor sign is that the shed is coming off in pieces, but what you really need to pay attention for is stuck shed - that is, shed he's having trouble getting off.

    Temps are good, yes, but what's your humidity?

    Im not sure what the humidity actually is i haven't got a gauge yet as i just got him a few days ago... ive been keeping his tank sprayed with warm.water multiple times a day... plan on getting gauge this weekend

    Don't get anything from a pet store, they'll either be overpriced or garbage. Best bet is to hit Wal-Mart, get an Acurite temp/humidity gauge.

    What kind of tank are you using? If it's a screen top glass tank, you absolutely need that humidity measure now because you're probably too low, especially for a shed.

    He is in a glass 10 gallon tank with a screen lid but i got the lid cover all besides where the lights are on the warm end.... what does the gauge look like an like what department would it be in st walmart

    What is the tank covered with? A damp towel would be good to start off with. Foil covering as another possibility for your top. Sphagnum moss placed into his hide is widely done, cypress mulch 100% as a substrate holds moisture very well. A patchy shed means your humidity is too low. Good luck.

    Ok the humidity is reading 55 an hes in shed so i kno it needs to be bout 70 but how can i get it up
