Hi everyone,

I am taking my ~2 year old BP to the vet on Friday because I believe she has a mild case of scale rot. I do not use a UTH, I only use overhead heat lamps, so I don't believe it's a burn. Some of her belly scales are flaking and cracked at the edges. I cleaned and disinfected her whole tank and have been giving her betadine soaks once a night for the past few days. I noticed that in the mornings, if I take her out (and she's been curled up in her hide, sleeping on aspen), her belly looks normal colored, like it's healing, but if I take her out at night, when she's been resting on something (a log or her hide or her branch, whatever it may be) her belly is pink - but the pink area is only wherever her belly has had contact with the surface she was on. Then it goes away after she's been resting on something soft for a while, like her aspen substrate. I'm wondering if this is because of the scale rot? As mentioned above, I highly doubt it's a burn because the pinkness fades, then returns, and I don't use a UTH - I also monitor her tank temps religiously.

Do you think this is because of the possible scale rot? Is there anything else I can do to treat it before her appointment on Friday?
