I thought it must have shed. I know somebody mentioned that the odds of a new snake in shed to eat is very low so I thought since you were trying to feed it must have shed.

You need to leave the snake alone and mist it to keep the humidity up until it sheds. After that I bet it eats without issue. Until then handle one issue at a time.

A shed should start with a pink or red belly, then the eyes and skin get cloudy which is known as the blue phase. After that clears up the snake will shed in a couple to a few days. For this to all work correctly your humidity needs to be correct.
