Retic or carpet python
Hello I have wanting to add something new and much different to my collection. Currently 13 bps and 2 red tails.... but I'm stuck between a sd or d goldenchild retic or a carpet python... I want something that will keep me on my toes and explore... what is your input?

Don't know much about Carpets but a retic will definitely give you what you want as in interaction and keeping you on your toes.
I've had Burmese pythons but there is nothing like how a retic seems to almost act like they want to know whats going on and
enjoy being out. My female just comes up my arms and rests her head on my shoulder. Sometimes she will take off when I put her
on the ground and oh boy! Its a challenge sometimes because she's super strong and fast! Good luck and enjoy on which one you choose.

I was in the same boat as you (only owing BPs and boas) I purchased a jaguar carpet python a few months ago and they are much more active when out than either boas / BPs. They are also harder to tame, verses my boas that have never struck at me, this little guy has gotten me maybe 6 times since purchase and is much faster than the Boas.
I would say a carpet would be a good choice... Some get as large or larger than a boa, just not as heavy, and it is a step up in terms of activity and feistyness from a boa, but not as much as a retic. Plus, SD retics are very pricey right now (if you want a morph) and dwarfs can still get 12'... So unless you want to jump to something that big and / or expensive, I'd say go for a carpet first. I know I'm enjoying mine and he is gorgeous.
Currently keeping:
1.0 BCA 1.0 BCI
1.0 CA BCI 1.1 BCLs
0.1 BRB 1.2 KSBs
1.0 Carpet 0.5 BPs
0.2 cresteds 1.2 gargs
1.0 Leachie 0.0.1 BTS
