Greatest freak out from our hobby you have seen
I want to see who has witnessed the greatest freak out when it comes to snakes. I have seen some pretty funny things from my little king and great things from my BP the short time I've had her

I have the best example of this! And it only happened yesterday too!!
It was feeding day, I was almost done and was getting ready to feed my spider girl who's sitting at a good 1300 grams right now. My mom walks in and I say "Hey mom you want to see something cool?"
I take the f/t rat out and start dangling it in front of my girl, took two seconds and bam!
Right on my thumb....
My mother started freaking out saying that it attacked me when in reality she missed the rat and scrapped my thumb (only two puncture wounds). Although it did bleed for awhile.
Meanwhile I'm laughing to the point of tears because it was the funniest thing ever: The one time I invite my mom to watch the snakes eat I get tagged.... Lesson learned NEVER ask your mother to watch feeding day.

I got a great one too involves my buddy and his girlfriend. This was December when I first got my king. So I invited all my friends over to hang out, and everything is going fine till my friends girlfriend walked in the house and asked me where I got the "bracelet" at. It was at that time Zac decided to pop is head out and c0ck it to the side and look at her. She starts screaming that I had a snake on my wrist then still screaming she runs through the house and my mom's baby corn decides to come out of hiding she screams even louder and runs outside and starts crying

This is a tale of my best friend's hognose. Chubby was her garbage disposal snake; she'd eat anything and everything and sometimes Chubbs would get special treats of fish or some other meat. One day, my friend had made pork chops and as Chubby was cruising she offered her a tiny piece of unseasoned, cooked pork. Chubby struck... and then slowly opened her mouth. The pork chop bit fell out, but she stayed there gaping for probably half a minute. It was like she'd tasted the most goddawful thing ever and was in shock. She was completely unharmed of course, but it was hilarious.

Being the child growing up with a soft spot for nature my heart often wept, and still does, for the actions of my peers. Can't say that I saved them all but I did ruin plenty of "fun" for the losers who thought inflicting pain was good sport. Most often the response was simply disappointment at my stealing the source of their entertainment and releasing it somewhere safe. There was this one encounter with a snake that netted me a bonus reward on top of the warm, fuzzy feeling I'd get when saving a helpless critter from a slow and painful demise.
Middle school. Heading out to after lunch recess when I see a teacher hovering behind a pack of boys that are wildly kicking the hedge bushes. I see a black racer poke it's head out then retreat before more poorly placed kicks can land. I quickly snatch the snake out of the bushes, walk it across the yard, and release it through the back fencing that leads into some pine woods. Being a typical coluber I was rewarded with copious musking and rapid fire biting. Beginning of next period I get called into the nurses office. When asked if I was bit I tell them yes but it was only a harmless black racer. They can be bitey little suckers but are not dangerous. I try to explain this as they take my vitals and check my superficially chewed up arm. They're all looking at me like I'm a complete idiot so I tell them I can identify every snake indigenous to the state and there's no need for concern. Apparently the risk of me dying on their watch was too great as they had already called my mom to come pick me up with a strong suggestion that we visit the hospital. Me and the folks had a good laugh and I enjoyed a couple extra hours of outdoor adventuring that day.

I cursed a kid out in 4th grade because he killed a big scary 6 inch ring neck snake to save the school. Tried to act smart and say he did it because "the colors are 'poisonous' ones"
I'm not allowed to teach there anymore.
Just kidding I was in 3rd grade
In highschool I caught a Cuban knight anole and it bit me. The next day a teacher said it could "inject me with its poison" (there's that word again, "poison") I laughed at her and just said "ok"

I fixed it for you, I used to get that all the time when I posted about my sons cockatiels until they fixed it so that THAT particular word doesn't trip the censor, it can be annoying but doesn't really come up that much.

One of my brothers female friends in hs was too scared to jump off a 20 ft rock into a lake until she turned around to walk back down to the lake....there was a blue belly lizard a few feet behind her and when it took a few steps towards her she screamed bloody murder and jumped. Haha

There was a girl who was afraid of my tree frogs. Well I almost convinced her to hold one, when he lunged onto her shirt! She screamed and threw him off... Thankfully he landed safely.
