VPI satin black pastel
I'm trying to get another snake now that I'm getting a T8. Same guy I got the first snake from had a black pastel I liked but I have a really hard time telling those apart from normals. The dude has been Hella helpful and the first snake has been perfect so I don't have any reason not to believe him, just want to know what I'm getting. Also I don't know what the difference is between a VPI satin and a regular black pastel? Not a big deal cause I'm not breeding but still, I'd like to know.

Re: VPI satin black pastel
Looks like a black pastel to me but when it comes to vpi satin never heard of it maybe he meant vpi axanthic?

Had to do a little looking to find it, but it is actually a line of black pastel. It does indeed look like a black pastel to me, but the satin line is supposed to be really dark and the picture almost makes it look green? In better lighting it may be more obvious.

Re: VPI satin black pastel

We just bought one of these little guys last Sunday; this is the breeder picture as we are letting him get settled in before handling or taking pictures. Striking pattern.

Looks like a black pastel in shed to me.
The "difference" is purely the line it comes from - sometimes it comes from a different wild caught specimen and sometimes it is because they have line bred to emphasise a particular look.

Gracias fellas. Went in and put the money down so he'd hang on to her til the T8 gets here. First 2 snakes and both of them are 2 of my favorite "basic" types of balls. This girl and a lesser, love em both
