    Mixed results

Today was the first time i fed my BPs f/t. 3 ate and 3 didnt. My big normal male has never taken f/t (Ive tried once or twice before) but I dont know yet if he is a live only snake. And the other 2 that refused was the first time i tried f/t with them. But the 3 that did eat have been on live the entire time ive had them and they took it with no hesitation. Didnt even have to do the zombie dance for them.

My super pastel het clown boy never strikes f/t. He'll destroy live but with f/t you gotta put it in the hide he's in and go outside the snake room for a while and he'll take it. He's goofy

Should I try to feed them again in a few hours or should I just leave the rat in their hide overnight?

You can leave it in overnight. I have one that also just wants it pushed in it's hide, and left alone. And probably one or two others that would do the same, but I like when they strike.

Try leaving it in there for awhile. I have a snake that would only touch f/t mice...went on hunger strike and will now only eat freshly killed mice. Won't touch live mice or rats of any type.. Some bp's are picky and some are garbage disposals.

my snakes are weird they wont eat in the enclosures.. that one day i spent prolly 15 min doing zombie dance infront of her hide and moving it all over, took her out of the enclosure and in a box and no hesitation at all so thats just what i do from now on with both of them.. both have never missed a meal for me

I got close to the same on Wednesday, but the results were expected. One girl was already on f/t and she snarfed her meal like a champ. the other hadn't yet been introduced to it before she got shipped out me. She seemed interested in the smell, but no amount of zombie dancing enticed a strike, nor did she eat the squeaker when left overnight. I'm going to try a gradual approach now: offering live today so she gets a meal in her. Next week will be fresh prekilled, and the week after I'll offer f/t again and see if she goes for it.

For the 2 that didn't eat I would not offer again for another week and let them get a little hungrier that may change their attitude towards passing a meal up.
    Cheers, Jeff
