Cutting Eggs Tonight

It's day 56 and we're going to be cutting our first clutch tonight. There are no holes in our egg tub, and I'm wondering what I should do about oxygen. What's the procedure after the eggs are cut? I want to make sure they have enough oxygen. Do you move the eggs to a tub with holes?

After I cut, I just check on them once or twice a day. My egg boxes do not have any holes in them and I haven't had any problems.

Haha, sorry guys. Didn't mean to keep you waiting. We didn't go poking around too much (boyfriend was paranoid about disturbing them) so I'm unsure about most of their genes. It looks like a normal is already out and about! Slithering all around her/his sibling's eggs. It looks like a Pastel is in another and maybe even another normal or pastel in a third egg (not the best odds at this point, but I'm just excited to have them!).

There's a spider in one, but I'm concerned about it. It looks skinny compared to its siblings and its yolk is huge. I haven't seen it move at all.. I'm wondering if maybe umbilical got tied or maybe it's just lagging behind... I'm not sure what to do about it, because I cant really see what's going on. I'll take a picture when my boyfriend gets home.

As far as the other eggs, we'll definitely need some help identifying. Some very blushed heads are poking out of those. One appears to be a Kingpin, another looks like maybe a spinner or lemonblast or something, and the last.... MAYBE a Queenspin. It looks white in color with very thin sparse caramel stripes.

Can anyone help with advice on what to buy them for food? I want to have them on F/T rats, but I'll probably buy some F/T Mice in case we have some really picky eaters. My plan was to buy Rat Pinks and Rat Fuzzies, and then also some Mice, but what size? I've seen people saying they use even rat pups for the first meal? Seems kind of big?

TLDR: What size Rats and Mice should I buy for the hatchlings?

I start mine on live mouse hoppers. After three successful feedings I switch to f/t hoppers for a few feedings, then to f/t rat pups.

I would take a better look at that yolk baby. If it has a twisted umbilical cord he's going to need some extra TLC.

Do you ever have issues switching them to rats, since you began with mice?
