I have a bp that is jsut over two feet and a nice size around. Not really fat or anything. I have be feeding two small adult mice a week the pet store had been feeding one. Here are my questions. I am out of work and needing to keep her in a 24"l 12"w 18"h tank right now, is that ok for a little while? Next in the town I live in I can't get very small rats. Is it ok to wait untill she is 3.5 feet or so? Also if she is 2 feet how old?? One more thing and I be edu, Getting her as big as I can, I really want her, if she is a her I think she is, to be at least 4.5 if not 5.5. How do I do that? Is it genetics??? Thanks sorry so long!!

it should be okay for awhile but i wouldn't keep her in it for too long,if you can't get baby rats i would get adults and breed them your self, but you could wait till she is about 3 ft or so,and for size i've heard that snakes grow about a foot a year, and for size i'm not sure how you get your snake to grow as large as you want it to be but i would figure a good home regular feeding and good care and she will grow, hope she does good.

Not really possible to tell the age by size, etc.
It will be okay in that size tank for a little while. You might think of doing the rubbermaid setup since funds are tight - they're so cheap and you can get a large one for next to nothing compared to the cost of a larger tank, etc.
Just feed him/her according to the usual guidelines (prey 1-1.5 times the width of the snakes widest part of their body) and she'll grow fine. Ball Pythons live a long time, so enjoy her and don't rush her growth too much. Just like people, putting on the pounds quick can't be good for them and probably shortens their life span.

Thanks, My friend has a bp that is about 15 months or so. She is 2 pounds and just over three feet. Needless to say he power feed her. To mice then one mouse middle of the week. i worry about that . I do want her to live a long time. I just don't think her size well be big enough. Don't woprry I could never get rid of her for that or anything. I think what I will do is get a Boa a Red Tail. And maybe start a small collection. Consisting of a RTB 2-3 BP( all Female) they get bigger. The only thing is I wish I could get a sanke that would get at least 6 feet but not over 9. That would be perfect. Well thanks for the info. Oh by the way as soon as I can figure out how to post pics I'll have some of RUFUS the bp
