Switching a baby ball python to rats

Hey everyone. I had few questions on switching 6 month old ball python to rats. He's a male so he's not quiet big yet, but under 200 grams. He's been on mouse hoppers and I wanted to make the switch already. Will rat pups work? Thought I'd post a picture of him as well ^.^

This is what I use to kinda gauge my sizes when i have to order. otherwise i just buy whatever is around the same size as the thickest part of my snake.

Yes rat pups will be fine. Do it sooner rather than later, I switch mine after they've taken three mouse hoppers if they won't take a rat fuzzy initially.

My 172 gram spider male is on pup rats. I am sure you will have no issues.

Yeah under 200g use rat pups, but hel probably switch soon after that again . At 200g I had to switch to weaned rats because my girl would still be hungry after eating one rat pup. Scary to see her stretch out that much to swallow it though but she took it like a champ. Charts recommend switching to weaned rats at 400-500g mark though but idk if that's accurate for all Bp's since some are ggirthy enough to take it at 200g mark. But I could tell my Bp needed o be upped since there was no bulge at all after eating a rat pup and she didn't defacate since she wasn't filling up.

I have a 98 gram lesser on rat pups. Some breeders don't even bother with mice and just start out on rats.

Thanks you guys! I really appreciate the advice. I have some rat pups coming in today.
He's already eating 3 hoppers so the sooner the switch the better
