    ASF possible over crowding issues?

In the last two days one of my ASF colonies had 25 babies. The colony has one male and three females. The third female is only 2 months old so is not sexually mature yet. But between the two older females, one female had 10 babies two nights ago and last night the other female had 15. I have yet to have these numbers, usually my ASFs only have 6-9 at a time.

I am not complaining as long as there will be no issues of over crowding as the babes grow. My colonies live in 105qt large, clear, plastic tubs. I have heard that the adults will kill babies if there is over crowding. Is this true? Once the babies are weaned I have tubs to move the babies to so they can grow up some more, but I do not want anything to happen until then.

Just make sure they never run out of food and water, and they should be fine. You might find you have to split them up later once the pups start cruising around, but for now they should be alright.
