New to the forums. Everyone meet Loki!

I rescued him from a terrible owner. He is a male, 3'8" long, and weighs 1270 grams.

I found him on Craigslist, when I arrived there were about 5 teenagers sitting around smoking cigarettes. The guy had several snakes, two were not in enclosures, they looked like boas. He had about six corn snakes in one sterilite tub, and three ball pythons in one sterilite tub. Both tubs were very small, had no water source, heat source, or substrate. Loki was with the two other balls, he was the best looking one. The guy said he had just got him but was trying to make some cash to pay his rent. The other two looked malnourished and had stuck shed on them. I told him I would take it and he put Loki in a bag and handed it to me. It is the middle of winter where I live and I jad ordered heat bags and a live critter box to transport him in, (good thing too). I felt terrible that the other snakes were subjected to that kind of carelessness, especially the smoking. After returning home I was concerned I may have gotten a snake with health issues. I started giving him betadine baths just to be safe. I looked him over the best I could and his tank setup was perfect. He took well to his new home and ate five days after getting him. I took him to the vet and they said he was in good health. He is now happy as can be and so am I. The next day after getting him I just couldn't stand the thought of the other snakes having to deal with a terrible owner, not to mention other people buying unhealthy snakes, so I contacted animal control and turned him in. They said would look into it. I am not sure what happened or if they did anything but I made the attempt. If I had the time, money, and space I would have bought them all.
