Hi all! I've been reading up on ball python breeding, and I'm unclear about a couple concepts...
On the typical ball python breeding schedule, what is the purpose of early pairings in fall/winter? Does it stimulate ovulation and spermatogenesis, or is it just part of the mating ritual leading into spring, or is there another reason?
On the subject of breeding year round, "out of season", if you will: is it still necessary to have these initial pairings for a few months before actual fertilization occurs?
Thanks all...![]()
