Rack system suggestions?
I posted this on another thread but maybe I'll get a response here....I want to start my hobby again and invest on a rack system. I do plan on buying bigger cages but that's down the line. My question is, what size tubs should I start with? I have an idea but would love to hear your suggestions. I don't want to start too small because then I would have to keep buying bigger and bigger. For example, would a 23×16×6(32qt) or a 33×17×6(41qt) be good to start? I do plan to have some boas as well. Thank you.

41 would be appropriate for an adult ball or a medium size boa but not for either below a certain weight. A 32 would be appropriate for a medium size ball or a small boa but not for an adult of either. Neither of these would be appropriate for a juvenile.
So... you need to give some more information about what you have and what you plan to buy. I personally like the animal plastics racks that accept both 15qt and 32qt tubs. This would get you from baby to decent size with both species before needing a bigger rack for the larger individuals.

Thanks for the response. I'm starting with medium sized ball pythons/boas. Maybe a tad smaller. Thanks.

I only have one rack, this one, and have found that it's a good size. I have it split right now and it houses 2 medium BPs on the bottom and kenyan sand boas and a hognose on the top 3 levels. You CAN use a bigger tub for smaller snakes but you need to treat it like a terrarium setup... i.e. provide hides, rocks, some fake plants or balled up paper to clutter it up. I have hides in it now for my BPs and the hognose and they seem to make good use of them. As the BPs get larger, I will remove the hides and see how it goes. I plan on upgrading to a larger rack to house the females as adults, but this rack will house the sandboas and hognose for the duration of their lives.
Also a little plug for C-Serpents, Chris was great to deal with and I feel that his prices are great for the quality of his racks. Them coming with tubs and assembled also makes them more appealing than some other options out there. I picked up mine at a local show, so didn't have to pay for shipping as well.

Yeah I'm either going with 32 or 41 qt. If I do use the 41, I'll just put more hides and clutter.
I've done research on C-Serpents. Its one of my choices along with Boaphile and Reptile Basics.

You may have already read this, but be wary of boaphile... There are loads of threads online from unhappy customers, not due to his products, but due to the insane amount of time it'll take to get your product and the lack of communication. I was considering him for my first pvc cage purchase, but decided against it when I read all the reviews of it taking 4-6 months and never hearing anything back from him.
If you have a reptile show near you, you may be able to pick up a rack there from c-serpents. I don't know if boaphile or reptile basics vends shows, but I saved about $50 picking my rack up rather than having it shipped. A.P. is also worth taking a look at , but their's come unassembled and without tubs.
Good luck choosing.

Yeah I heard about Boaphile taking eons to ship. It's going to come down to C-Serpents or Reptile Basics.

Re: Rack system suggestions?
I ordered a boaphile 41qt rack in October and it was delivered 3 weeks and 6 days after I placed my order. My first rack a year earlier was delivered 6 weeks after I ordered it. Jeff may not be the best with email but if you call him 90% of the time he answers the phone and if he doesn't he will call you back. I can't say enough good things about the racks I have from Jeff and I just placed another order last week. Delivery may sometimes be a little longer but it is an excellent product!
