    Better deal?

    A used exo terra 36"x18"x24" for 100$.

    Or

    New reptology 32"x18"x16" for 200$.

What do you think is the better deal?

The exo Terra Is a bit bigger but not by much at all so it's really what pleases you more visually and if your willing fork out the extra 100$ for the new one most exo terras have two doors that swing and lock and the reptolgy is a sliding glass witch I find a nice feature but either way there good choices. Just make sure if you get the used exo Terra you disinfect it before putting your snake in

Honestly, Animal Plastics and Pro-Line (Constrictors NW) both offer high quality plastic caging for the same price point, actually under the $200 price of the new cage shown here.

AP has a $175 cage but there is a shipping charge.

Pro-Line has a $195 cage and that price includes shipping.

I'm not sure what you are using the cage for but a royal doesn't need 16" or 24" of height. 24" will present humidity problems and heating problems in a glass cage depending on where you live. Pay for more floor space instead of height.

Do what you want, but plastic enclosures are recommended for snakes here and they are fairly affordable, and probably less expensive in the long run. Making a glass tank work properly ends up costing you in other ways down the road.

On another note, feeding and cleaning from top opening cages is somewhat inconvenient IMO.

    Good luck.

This cage was the first cage I used when my boa constrictor was small.

This is a Pro-Line 48" x 24" x 14" unit. It's certainly high enough for anything a royal would do. They offer a smaller cage suited for royals and so does AP.

This cage I believe runs for about $250 shipped now. I bought it when it was $230 shipped.

For now I house my coastal carpet in it, although the boa constrictor is pictured in it here, but eventually she (coastal) will get a larger cage like the boa constrictor has now and the royal will move to this one.

These cages also stack and if you end up getting more animals and you want displays, they look nice.

    The bottom cage is 48" x 30" x 20".

They are very nice cages, but shipping to Canada is going to be more expensive than the actual cage. There is cornels world here, but they are really overpriced as well. I've always used glass tanks and never had issues. I just throw a towel on top of the screen.

    Yep,

You got me there! I didn't know you were north of us here in the US. I think you'll do fine with the two you have there, and I personally would go with the front opening version if you have the option.

There may be a some other folks from Canada that have a line on plastic cages there, but I agree with you, when shipping factors in with my suggestion, it's not worth it.

    Good luck!

Thanks for being understanding! Should I do the swing or sliding doors in your opinion?

I think I'd go for the cage that is not as tall. Heat and humidity keep easier with a shorter cage and royals are terrestrial so there is no need for height.

Sliding or swinging is your choice. I think sliding would be less intrusive if you are tapped for space, but that's the 24" tall cage, and that's even taller than my boa constrictor's cage.

Go for the less expensive model and use the extra cash to deck it out when you want to add features.

    Enjoy!!!

I think I'm going to go with the reptology one. It's more pricy, but it's got the sliding doors and lots of locks, and I really like the hight of it, like you said. I like that it's not really tall, but not really short, since my guy does seem to enjoy "climbing" lol
