"natural" breeding season in October?

I read about the breeding season usually starting in October, and the author claimed that this was the way Ball Pythons had been breeding for thousands of years, etc. so that's why breeders choose October. He didn't make any mention of the seasons of the area, just the Months.

Now, since Ball Pythons are from the central African region, their October would be like the US's March, No?

Or has that all been factored in (author didn't say so) and they ordinarily breed during their fall/winter season and Northern Hemisphere breeders have adjusted accordingly? It would seem so, since the cooling period that coincides with breeding would be fall/winter temps.

I'm sure that most people aren't as nit-picky as am I, but I see something like that and it makes me wonder.

Ball pythons are found entirely in the Northern Hemisphere, so there's no seasonal calendar adjustments needed for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere.
