Heating Has Got Me Stumped !
I am building a new enclosure for my BP and I am making it 5ft long by 2ft wide by 1.5ft tall and I am going make it from melamine board and I am obviously going to cut holes for the heatlights on the top but I am wondering how in the heck I am going to put belly heat in this cage ! Does anybody have an answer ?
Thanks, Gage

Hi.... Belly heat is not a must, just go with overhead ceramics?
Although you can buy glass tray / heat mat holders to go inside wooden enclosures.....

Thats what I was thinking but then how would the heat from the ceramics go through the top of the hide box ?

Re: Heating Has Got Me Stumped !
Many including myself make the roof of the hide the hottest spot 'basking spot' or the floor next to the warm hide directly under the heat ... Inside that hide is still plenty warm enough ambient for digesting etc...

If I were you, I'd look into RHPs (radiant heat panel) instead of heat lamps. It will make the enclosure look a lot cleaner. Also, since the enclosure will be fully enclosed, it will keep heat and humidity in better.

X2 on RHPs. We use them in our big green tree enclosures and they work perfectly. You can mount them to the inside top of the cage.

I may be wrong but that sounds like an extremely large enclosure for even the biggest of BPs. I would think it would save quite a bit of work to get a smaller PVC enclosure? Either way RHPs seem to be the way to go, especially if your ambient room temp fluctuates.
I would look into Pro Products RHPs, Bob is extremely helpful in helping you get the right size for what you need.

As long as it is filled with enough decor and places to hide and not be seen, the BP
Should be fine.
