    lost king?

my nerves have been shot over this for the past three weeks; i'm worried sick and feel like a terrible keeper for letting this slip!

about three weeks ago a newly acquired speckled king, about ten or so inches long, happened to find a crack in the lip of the kritter keeper (that i never would've noticed in a million years ;___;...) and decided to make his best houdini impression. i've tried all suggested methods: the lines of flour in the doorways never yielded a single track, i had boxes and bottles with pinkies all over the place until they had to be disposed of, i sat up until about one in the morning for two days straight waiting for the bags i stuffed under all doorways not treated with flour to make sound. the day that he was lost and about two after i kept the cat secure in a downstairs room.
i don't believe he went downstairs and everything on the upper floor has been completely eviscerated looking for the little guy, but i never found a single sign of him (and because parts of the upstairs are being remodeled there's a staggering amount of places he could be!). i also checked in the heat vents the best i could then blocked them.

it's been awful cold lately so i was wondering if he crawled into a wall or the ceiling and went into brumation (although we do have a whole ton of places he could get warm to stay instead so idk why he would, but...)? i've ruled out the cat killing him because a body would've been found. i've left out little water dishes in every room in case he needs ever does come out to take a drink, but otherwise i'm at a loss for what to do. i've heard stories of people's snakes coming out months or years later...which is terrifying, in my opinion.

i apologize for the rambling and whining! i just would really appreciate a word of reassurance or tips from anyone who might know what else to do? also, for the sake of desperate curiosity, would it be acceptable to try and snag him with something like one of the sticky snake traps?
