    Type of bulb

    Hi all,

I know you shouldn't use a bulb that emits light that the ball python can see. I have a red infared bulb for heating but cannot sleep with that crazy red glow lighting up my room. I got a black ceramic hear emitter bulb. Are these just as good? It does cost more but lasts longer.

Any benefits or negatives to using either bulb?

    Thanks!!!

Ceramic heater should be fine, just make sure ambient and surface temps are in good range. And make sure bp cant have contact with it.

CHEs work fine. Like Borgpython said, just make sure the snake cant come into contact with the emitter or probably the dome as well since that will probably be pretty hot too.
