help ! (shedding and eating problem)
so my ball python went into shed and I'm starting to think something's wrong cause it hasn't come off? and today is feeding day so I put him in his feeding tub and he struck the mouse and constricted it, but when I came back to check he didn't eat it and wouldn't strike again, I also noticed he is making a weird noise. it's like a popping/ letting air out sound. the vets are closed today but what could be going on? my temps and humidity are good. 😥

is he out of blues? the popping noise is most likely the skin letting loose from his nose area.. and for eating it happens..

Should have come off by now. You say your temps are good, did you bump it up to at least 70% for shed cycle? and if you are using a tank enclosure, is the humidity the same in all areas and not possibly lower on one end where the bp hangs out more?
Anyway's the bp will need help getting the shed off. Soak in luke warm water for 30 mins to an hour then let the bp run through a damp towel to slide the shed off, with the help of you massaging/rubbing gently.

yes the humidity was bumped up. I soaked him like you said and all the skin came off but what about the eye caps?

You cant do anything about retained eyecaps I'm afraid, all you can do is wait for next shed and hope they come off. Some people bring their bp's to vets to get rid of the eyecaps but I've heard horror stories of bp's getting blinded that way. Most people here would tell you to just wait till next shed.

Shouldn't be an issue, snake can still see just fine and all. Its a good thing they clear up just before shed process, if they didn't then the snake would be pissy the whole time not being able to see anything with blue eye caps till next shed lol.
