    Hide box and temps

The temps in my bp set up are approx. 73 on the cool side and right around 90 on the warm side. But when I check the temp inside the hide on the warm end it has soared to over 100. I guess this is a stupid question but should I simply turn down the UTH or is the higher temp inside the hide ok?

Hot spot should about 90. 100 is kinda high. Also the cool side should be around 82. How are you measuring the temps? Do you have a temp gun?

Well you have two different kinds of temperatures, ambient temp and floor temp. In my tubs I have the hot side of the tub at 90-91 degrees floor temp (read with infrared thermometer) The floor temp in the front is around 80 and the ambient temp (air temp) in the tub is 85deg. how are you taking your temp readings? what type of cage? and to answer your question No 100 degrees is not good so in the mean time move the hide off the uth.

    Re: Hide box and temps

Yes I am using a temp gun. I have each of my snakes in a 20G long aquarium. Any suggestions on how to only get the 10 degree temp gradient since mine is more like 20 degrees. My hubby like it pretty cool in the house which doesn’t help. And moving the hides is easy enough.
