Feeding Schedule
I have a young ball python and a young boa constrictor that I keep in one room, cages stacked. I have a 7 year old ball python in my dining room in a tank. My 2 young snakes are fed every sunday. I fed the adult BP on tuesday. My reasoning for different feeding days was so that I could have a snake (the adult BP) available to handle while the 2 younger ones are off limits for 2 days to digest their meals. My question is, feeding my adult BP on a day that the younger ones are available for handling, I'm worried about the lingering scent of prey in the air putting them in hunt mode. The young BP seemed agitated during handling after the big guy was fed. Should I feed all snakes on the same day?

Feed them whenever it works for you. I don't think you need to be feeding your 7 year old every 7 days though. Maybe every 10-14.
As long as you wash your hands after handling rats, you shouldn't be getting tagged.
Or you can just feed them all on the same day and wait a day or two to handle.

Re: Feeding Schedule
The 7 year old is a new addition. I acquired him from someone who didn't want him and was only feeding him 1 mouse per month. Needless to say he's underweight. I'm being careful not to overfeed him and I'll be spreading his feedings out after a month or so

Re: Feeding Schedule
I was thinking maybe it was a change in weather/barometric pressure from the cold front that recently rolled through as the cause of his crankiness

I would just feed them all on the same day for convenience. Also, the smell of feeders thawing will probably put all three into food mode; it does for my baby BP's, my retic, and all my boas. The older male BP may be initially foody and then settle once he's back up to weight.

I feed mine one day of the week. My Corns are already fed every Monday and now so will my ball. Monday is the only day of the week where my work schedule is not likely to change due to the fact that I have to be at work at 7am for the manager meeting so it makes it easier to feed them at a set time.
