    after shedding question

    Hey all

I bought my first snake last month and last week he finished his first shed last week. I never noticed before but now his black scales under my spot lights have a blue iridescence at the right angle. Is this normal? Do fire bp usually have this colouration? His shed was complete on his own it appears.

    Re: after shedding question

You missed a really important "s" there - I'll edit it in for you.

And yes iridescence is pretty common if you get the lighting right.

    Haha thanks

Is it normal for them to shed inside their hide? I don't know when he actually shed, I left him alone for almost a week after his eyes went blue. I just checked daily but didn't want to disturb him in his hide. Happened to be cleaning the cage a few days ago and found a piece of skin in the substrate, the rest was in the hide.

Actually upon rereading it I did spell it right in the first time, I rent a basement apartment and the lighting are potlights.

    Re: after shedding question

Yep - but with our zero tolerance drugs rules potlights is fine but pot lights get an infraction without extra clarification.

It's easier to avoid the confusion in the first place.

It is I promise - we just welcome children as well so censor ourselves quite a bit to keep it family friendly.

Takes a little getting used to at the start ( even for me ).
