Yes, I've run juveniles in 41-qt tubs before without any issues. Just make sure there's a ton of stuff in it to clutter it up - plastic hides and fake viney plants, loosely balled up newspaper, or even a thick layer of aspen or cypress mulch in one area that he can burrow under.
