Not really a ball. I just soak some moss in water for no more than 5 minutes, then place it between two towels until heavily damp (not soaking or dripping) then I place it in the hide and hold my snake for a while. Because the water makes the moss cold and I want it to warm up on the UTH. Then I just place the hide ontop of the moss (hide doesn't have a bottom) and the snake moves around the moss, pushes it to the sides, and flattens it to his comfort.
