She might not be really hungry and is just eating to eat as snakes are pretty opportunistic. My red tail boa will sometimes just grab her pre killed rat and not even wrap it up, just grab it by the head and start swallowing. Then I know its time to extend the next feeding as she isn't really hungry but wont pass up a free meal
