    How many mice?

I've run into a problem recently when buying feeders. My BP is over 2 feet long and a little over a year old, and I've been wanting to switch her to small rats. The place we buy from doesn't keep intermediaries, so it was either a large mouse or a small rat.
So, just when I think she's big enough to switch, they stop carrying different sizes and now only have jumbo rats. I've looked for other places to buy live feeders in my area-- found one that promptly went out of business after I bought one rat from them-- and am still looking. Tried the chain petstores and they won't sell mice/rats as feeders.

My question is this; how many mice per week would you guys recommend till I can find a place with rats? Moose had a growth spurt, so I don't think my previous schedule of one every three to five days is enough.

I generally feed my snakes 10-15% of their body weight per feeding. Younger snakes can get up to 20%. I'm not sure if you feed live or f/t but if you can't find a trusted local supplier have you considered buying in bulk online? I'm a big fan of Big Cheese Rodents for online feeders.

She'll only eat live, that's the problem. If she'd eat f/t I could just order a bunch of rats lol
