These snakes have a total different digestive system than ours. They are not taking in water at the same rate and respective quantities as us which acts as lube. Thus, they have to work harder to evacuate.
This may help explain why some snakes such as mine primarily defecate during shed. This is when snakes are working their body muscles harder than usual which also aids in defacating.
