I have a PhD in biochemistry and my lab had a massive genetic mapping project when I was doing my PhD. I don't think it would be as simple as you believe. As far as I know there isn't much if any mapping of the BP genome.
I've thought about this and I don't really see a point to it, other than intellectual curiosity (I'd love to know the BEL complex pathway and how so many mutations affect a single gene with massively different outcomes). But beyond that, so what? As someone who thinks we spend much much too little money on basic research and should fund a heck of a lot more, this isn't something I would consider a valuable use of resources. Just my.
