The snake is not able to reach this is it? What kind of cage are you using?
As far as the question I would get a high watt like the 100 and then get a dimmer to dial it in right where you need it. Using a higher watt bulb reduced will extend the life of it. You need to be very careful when using these. I have a 100 watt and it produced temps in the 600s on the element. The one on my ball tank that has been on 24/7 for 2.5 years and is still going strong.
The best option would be to go with a RHP on a tstat if it will work on your cage type.
