It seemed as though we were running late pairing this year, but checking yesterday we have 17 pairs locked up so far this season. This counts 4 females that absorbed last season. We paired 25 females last season and had 17 clutches.

We are waiting on a few males to mature a bit and get to size before we really kick into full gear. It is not easy to let 10- 15 females sit and wait on these young boys, but the females are later layers (or virgins), are still building and eating, so we have time..... breathe, relax, be patient. Not easy

1.0 GHI Mojave- 375g (0.1 YB, 0.1 Pastel, 0.2 Pinstripe and maybe a Normal or two)
1.0 Sugar FireFly- 510g (0.1 Pinstripe, 0.1 YB, 0.1 Enchi and a few Normals)
1.0 Banana Pinstripe dinker- 505g (0.1 Enchi, 0.1 Spider, and a few Normals)
1.0 Banana dinker- 400g (0.1 Pinstripe, 0.1 LemonBlast and a few Normals)
1.0 Black Pewter 525g (Pastel and maybe an Albino- depending on how our Black Pastel Pied matures)
1.0 VPI Enchi 100% Het Ax- 500g (one job... a 3300g 0.1 VPI 100% Het Ax- 10 egg layer, so we are hedging our bets on odds here on a Het x Het pairing)

We are holding on to one of the 1.0 Black Pastel Pieds we just produced. Hoping he can get to size for a 0.1 Albino who laid late in August last season. If not, his sire is hitting clean-up, but we'd like 100% DH Black Pastel Albino Pieds with the little guy

Looking like we will be pairing 40- 50 females this season. A few smaller 2012 females (1200- 1400g range) really stepped up eating after we paired them once. 2012 0.1 FireFly has taken 3 meals since she locked with the 1.0 VPI Pinstripe Axanthic!!
