New to forum, but not new to herps, HELLO!
Hi, all! I'm new to the forum, well, actually have been registered a while and lurking.
Hubster and I have had all sorts of herps for a long time, but reduced the collection over time. I was a colubrid/dart frog girl for a long time, but we sold or lost to attrition all of those. Many successful breedings, and I enjoyed it immensely.
Hubster seems to have lost interest, for the most part, so I'm taking over the 6 balls and a Dumeril's that he has left.
Balls are so interesting with the genetics, my garters and milk snakes had no where NEAR the variations available in the world of Balls! I'm excited to be working with them now.
I'm surely ignorant at this time, but will work to become more knowledgeable. As it stands, there are a lot of morphs that look so similar to normals to me, I can't tell the difference. We reportedly have a cinnamon, but she just looks like a dark normal to me. We (I should start saying "I" now, they're mine!) do have a gorgeous high white Pied female, distinct, so I know what she is. And the spider male I can tell.
I have no problems sexing them, that carries over from colubrids, and I'm glad of that.
Some of them have been refusing food for quite a while. Just got 3/7 to eat. Will be trying the techniques in the article posted about cage cleaning and changing racks, etc.
I do wish to breed, responsibly and for quality, and because the genetics are intriguing, not for mass production.
That said, I have a lot of learning to do.
Just wanted to introduce myself before I do make my first "burning question" post. There is something I have been wondering for a LONG LONG LONG time!

Hello there, Glad to hear you're moving out of the shadows; I can say as both a new member and a new inductee to the herp world that this site and its members have been an invaluable source of information and advice for me. So the more experienced members willing to share their know-how, the better. I would be completely lost still had I not found these people, so it's nice to hear yet another undoubtedly valuable and informative member will be joining in. I look forward to hearing more from you. Particularly your knowledge and experience on breeding, as I have a personal interest in eventually getting into that as well.
