HELP ME PLZZZZ i really need some info guys

Hi i have a 1 year old regular ball python i recently noticed that he has some scaled flaking off, not the whole scale just the top layer of skin, some of them are brown and some are clear, his temps are about 85 on the hot side with a 92 basking area from his uth, cold side is about 75-80 humidity is at a constant 50-60%. its been about 3 weeks since his last shed, also there is no inflammation, redness, or open wounds, he doesnt seem to be sensitive and is very open to me picking him up and handling him so it doesnt seam that his skin is sensitive either. his behavior is normal, hiding and sleeping during the day and coming out at night to knock everything in his enclosure over lol his water bowl is large too, to big for him to knockover and he always has clean water, so bottom line, no apparent infection, dehydration, or behavioral issues are present so im quite stumped. ive heard that some balls change color and may drop scales to go from dark to light or vice versa, just let me know please i would really like some info before i take him to the vet. also there are no mites present, i did have an infestation at one time but it is long gone now. please somebody help me

To be honest it looks like you used some kind of oil based product on his skin - the scales flaking off are the result of that.

What did you use to treat the mites?

just some stuff called might off from zoo med, i just soaked him in some warm water and put him in a plastic tub with some newspaper for a few days while his tank and substrate were submerged in water. i sprayed the news paper with the mite off (never him directly, ive heard its bad to do so) every 3 days as the bottle instructed, the mites are gone this was about a month ago.
