    I never use infrared bulbs for my snakes, some reptiles do need them for their metabolism, but snakes aren't one of them

    If you really really need extra heat, use a ceramic heat emitter, not a light bulb.

    So replace the IR with CHE? Or just add one into the mix? Most of my adjustments will be done next time I had money.

    I would go for replace. Also, be sure to get a cover for the bulb so the snake doesn't burn itself
