Ever since I changed he substaight to coconut husk see doesn't come out to see me any more. Which i don't blame her at all. it's hard to control the humidity. Advise to never get this. Does any one know of anything better then aspen?

I use coco husk chips exclusively, and its great! How are you adding humidity etc. perhaps you've done something wrong by mistake.

Every other day I extremely spray down the husk the spray all around. That gets to humidity up to 65 sometimes more. Then the next day I just spray probably just getting the top layer of husk. But by time I get home from work or sleeping my humidity is down to 29-35. Never had this problem with aspen. Any suggestions to make the husk work will be great. I might be doing something wrong but I think she doesn't like it any wsys but it just might be wrong how I am doing it.

Sounds like you are using a CHE and not getting the coco wet enough.
Soaking the coco is the way to go.
How thick do you have it?

It sounds like you're using a screen top, and to be honest no matter what substrate you use you're going to have an issue.

I have absolutely no trouble with humidity using a screen top and i use a heat lamp exclusively. Try using bioactive substrate. I used a layer of leca clay pellets, then coco fibre and some organic soil at the top. When the snake poops just remove it and stir the soil and that's it!

I agree with the soaking. When I put new coconut husk in, I pour water on it rather than spray it for the first time.

Also to help hold moisture/humidity, I got these clay balls at Petsmart which were on the shelf next to the coconut husk. The clay balls go on the bottom underneath the coconut which really helps retain moisture.

Just throwing it out there, when I had a 55 gallon with a screen top I had 0 problem with keeping up humidity when using EcoEarth. I have had more problems with humidity with my T8. I bought it with light holes in the top because I was using heat lamps. When I switched to the under heater I still have humidity issues. I had to cover the top holes to help trap it in. I am planning on buying a solid top for it over the holidays.
