Feeding question

Hey guys, so my 2 year old female pastel ball python took her first meal with me last week no problem. Ate two large mice (still trying to convert her to rats), and had an amazing food response.

Last night was feeding night, and my baby ball, and my adult male fed like normal. Then it was her turn and she struck immediately, wrapped and strangled like normal, and then just left it and hid.

I thought maybe it was because I had put her in a tub to feed her and it stressed her out.

So today I tried offering another mouse in her actual cage to see if that would help her feel more comfortable. Again, struck, and strangled immediately. Then just left it and went back to her hide.

Should I be worried? Or could this be the infamous ball python eating habits? I live in virginia and the temps have been dropping lately. I still am able to maintain proper temps and humidity though.

Should I contact a vet or keep trying for a few more weeks? Should I wait a couple days before trying to feed her, or try nightly?

I would wait til next week and try again but leave it in its cage. Its possible that you have just stressed it a bit by moving it and then feeding again to soon after.

If I have a snake refuse I do not try to feed again until the next feeding day.

I have a girl who does this from time to time... I think it's because the food item is barely warm enough for her to go after and by the time she is done "Killing" it, it has gotten too cool. I have no actual evidence to support this, just all I can think of that could explain why she will do this once every 6 months or so.
