I let mine swim around in the tub then use a drop of baby soap and let them run through my hands (not around their face). They come out smelling great and are clean. I'm slightly germaphobed too. I usually clean their enclosures with latex gloves on.

This is essentially what I ended up doing and I also find the latex glove part very relatable. lol
Thank God too, because Julias has big, educational plans for Halloween tonight!

I hope Halloween was good to you...lol I have a box of gloves next to my snake and rat racks. The other reason I like to let them swim around is usually after a little exercise and some warm water they'll turn the pool into a toilet and keep their tub cleaner longer...
