Scale rot? Scales falling off?

What are you using to measure the humidity?
I would t worry about replacing the tubs just yet.

What is the ambient temperature in the room you keep them in?

I find an oil filled heater in the colder months setup to keep a constant ambient temperature works great for this issue.
