I'd get an infrared thermometer (a "temp gun"). They can be found for <$20 and are as accurate and versatile as you'll ever need. If don't go the gun route (or maybe you want both?), you could pick up a thermometer/hygrometer combo like the Accurite (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

As far as hides go, check out the ones from Reptile Basics (http://www.reptilebasics.com/hide-boxes). They work well and are easy to clean - both good things.

Other than that, just remember to add the Flexwatt on when you're checking out with Animal Plastics. It's not a separate purchase that you'll need to think about - just an add-on (like the door locks).
