Did anyone else see the new show called Dr. K's Exotic Animal ER?: I just watched the first episode from last week. A woman brings in her ball python that was reportedly left in the care of her brother while she was out of town. The woman claims she brought the snake in because it had sustained a "cut" along it's belly, maybe from a heat mat. The Vet intern proceeds to explain to the camera that "since a ball pythons heat receptors are on the top of them and not on the bottom, an under tank heat source is not appropriate...And they can potentially burn them selves"! She then takes the snake in the back for a laser treatment for the injury. It seems to be a burn so not sure why they refer to it as a cut. Then to top off the segment they dress the wound with moistened gauze and wrap the bottom half of the snakes body in a gauze wrap that in no way would stay on. Really? Who writes this stuff?
