Eye caps
New snake I rescued has eye caps and not sure how to deal with them. Not sure of age or sex of ball python but shed is very bad and was kept in 40g breeder. supposedly the ball is 4.5yrs.
So please advice on eye caps, what to do to take them off.
Thanks

I really would not mess with eye caps. I would try the pillowcase method. Using a damp pillowcase, put the snake inside and seal it, leave him in there for a bit and see if it sheds off on it's own. If not, unless they are piled up eye caps (meaning more than one shed cycle worth), I'd just make sure your husbandry is spot on and wait for it to shed off next cycle. The eyes are not something you want to poke and prod.
2.0 Offspring, 1.1 Normal Ball Python, 1.0 Pastel Ball Python, 0.1 Albino Ball Python, 0.1 Pinstripe Ball Python, 0.1 Banana Ball Python, 1.0 Pied Ball Python, 1.0 Normal Hognose, 0.1 Veiled Chameleon, 0.0.1 G.pulchra, 0.1 P.metallica, 0.1 M.giganteus

I would suggest leaving your new snake alone. Raise the humidity to the proper levels and your snake will shed the eye caps during it's next shed. Stressing out a snake that is already stressed over something that isn't even bothering it seems like a silly idea. The eye caps are probably bothering you more than they are bothering the snake.

Thanks and yeah I literally rescued this snake and got the horrible shed off and noticed the caps. I'm gonna leave him for a few days.

Leave it alone until it's next shed, not just a few days. If after it's next shed the eye caps still have not come off then you can intervene. When you see your snake going into shed, bump up the humidity to 60% or so, and the eye caps will 99% come off on their own.

+1 for leave it alone, and make sure to raise the humidity during the next shed cycle, should resolve the problem
