    sick samatra water monitor

I'm so mad at lllreptile right now. They sold me a sick water monitor at the reptile expo in Sacramento. I have called three times and emailed twice and no reply. If your ever in the need of wanting a reptile I wouldn't get one from them.

I can understand the frustration, but what is wrong with the animal, is he lethargic, not eating, etc, was he fine at the show, but got worse once he was home, saying he is sick is a pretty broad statement? I would try calling again or reach out to Jen on here she responds really fast, I have had nothing but good experiences with them, and anytime there has been (for me, minor issues) it was fixed on the spot.

    Re: sick samatra water monitor

As I noted on Facebook, if you were calling us late at night (the time stamp on this post is 11 pm), most of the staff here were in bed, asleep, and unable to answer the phone at work.

We are open for business now and would love the chance to help you out, we just need the chance to be able to call you back during business hours. Kate is going through emails as I type, and if she hasn't responded to your email already, I am sure she will soon. You can also call us any time during our business hours and talk to someone immediately - we are open 8 am to 5 pm PST.

Please give us the chance to help you out - we do not want the water monitor to do poorly any more than you do, and water monitors in particular can be extremely sensitive to their cage conditions. Please give us a call ASAP so we can help you out and make sure the baby gets better.

888-547-3784, and just press 1. Hope we can hear from you soon!

I already talked to someone from Lll. What I ment by he was sick when I got him is that after 15 minutes of buying him at the booth at the reptile expo last weekend bubbles started coming out of his mouth and nose. He also had something stuck in his nostril. I took him back to the booth where I got him and they flat out told me that they can't take him back and just said warm him up and it will go away. They knew he had a respiratory virus and still sold it to me. And it's not the husbandry cause it's all up to par. Gradient is 85, basking spot is 130, and humidity is 80. I have to call back in a week to let them know if he gets better or worse and take it from there.

I'm sorry about your bad experience. It is just the complete opposite of what I have experienced with them, I live in SD within 10 minutes from two of their stores and am pretty close witha few of the guy in the Esco location. At this point all the animals in my collection have come from them, and all have been completely healthy and are thriving. I really hope you lil guy turns around for you, husbandry can make a big differnece in their health so if you say its dialed in then hopefully it will bounce back.

Few things. First - I agree that letting it be for a week to see how it adjusts after traveling to a show and then traveling to its new home is the absolute best start (meaning don't handle it much at all for a week). 2nd. Our staff 100% did NOT know they sold you a water monitor with any sort of issue. That is a ridiculous statement to be blunt and unfair of you to assume. You picked it out in person and checked it over before you bought it, and someone else there saw it as well when you bought it. We do our best to be thorough. When shows are swamped busy, and the animal looks good to you, and good to us when you buy it, that is what we are looking for. We are more than happy to help if there is an issue that doesn't turn around, but stating stuff like you did doesn't help, and is flat out untrue. Especially something like a water monitor that are difficult by nature to begin with. Give us the benefit of the doubt, as we have a guarantee and are more than happy to take care of you completely.

With all that being said, please - keep in touch with us. If it is acting weirder tomorrow - don't wait a week to notify us if something changes. Has it eaten for you yet at all? What types of food are you offering? What type of bedding is it on specifically? Temps sound solid and should help the situation. If it is eating, that will also help, but let me know what foods (everything you have offered, and anything specific it has been interested in) and we will make sure we turn it around for you. We will figure it out no matter what happens, but my preference is to go over every detail with you to make sure we can give it the best opportunity to thrive and be a happy pet Let me know. Feel free to PM me personally with any detailed questions as well or feeding info you have on him. Thanks again.

Thanks. I hope he does too. He's a pretty chill guy. He's eating which is a plus but sneezing like crazy. I've haven't been handleing him at all unless to wipe his mouth or nose. to be honest I dint care about the money I lost out of it. All that matters is that he gets better.

That's exactly what I am after too here. I want it to be 100% for you. Glad to hear he is eating. PM me with details on what he is feeding on, and the bedding info, etc. Also has he pooped yet, etc. Anything you can think of that will help. Thanks again

    are

What made me mad is that after 15 minutes of purchase he started sneezing with bubbles coming out of his mouth and nose so I went to take him back. They flat out refused to take him back or let me pick a diffrent one. Plus they said it's not an ri. All I had to do is heat him up. I'm sorry but a ri doesn't go away by Judy bumping up the heat. Sorry if I went off but I'm really frustrated. That was my first show and putchase. Not really a good experience. Also to be honest it isn't about the money either. I will be calling Lll tomorrow to see to give an update and take it from there.
