Dead egg?

Just a quick question before I head off to bed................
I have two eggs in the bator and this is the first time I have ever seen and never heard of this.
The pairing were virgin Mojos and she laid 5 slugs and 2 good ones.
They are 20 days laid and When I checked them a couple days ago everything was good.
Tonight one of the eggs looks like the veins exploded in it.
I wasn't planning on eggs being that its her first season so its not a kick in the gut.
Just how do the veins all burst in a couple days when they are almost half way done cooking?

I don't have the "why" behind your question, but I can say that 4 of the eggs we had go bad this season basically looked fine until about the 3 week mark. Veins just disappeared and they started to mold quickly.

3 of the eggs were from a first year 0.1 Albino and the other a proven Pastel.

Over the last 6 years I have had eggs dying anywhere from a few days to a few weeks after incubation (half way through).

Obviously not all hatchlings are meant to be.

Now I do not recall ever seeing veins that look like they exploded, in my case they just disappeared and the eggs started to mold.

I figure there isnt a why answer.
Just never seen this.
Its still in the egg box and I will see if I can get a couple pictures tonight.
It went from good looking strong red veins to red splatter paint spots.

Talk about the odd gods kicking me in the junk!!!!
The cord was twisted and I didn't get any movement response.
While I was untangling the cord he balled up on me (when I came home for lunch)
Well went I came home he had already passed.



There was so much yolk left, the body just felt empty.

My condolences. I haven't gotten eggs yet so I don't know what it's like to lose an egg, but I definitely know what it's like to lose an animal. I've lost three reptiles in my experience. One Mali uromastyx, which my dad froze to death by turning off his heat lamp in November four years ago, a baby sulcata tortoise who became severely dehydrated after an impaction (I removed the impaction myself very very carefully and he was doing great and then not so great and then passed) and recently I lost a Moroccan uromastyx who was highly disabled from the beginning. He didn't really have a huge shot at life but I rescued him anyways.

That sucks sometimes it's just not meant to be, but you will make up for it 10 times over with your next clutch I am sure.

Considering both in this pairing were virgins I am still happy that they both proved to want to reproduce.
Lets hope he still has the will and shows my virgin pastel the way its done and I get some pastaves!!!!
